Hockey Ops Update for 8/26

The hockey season is one week closer!  From the emails I am getting, it looks like it is going to be first “full season” since early 2020.  This is very exciting and can’t wait to be back in rinks to see games.   Many of you are working your way through the registration process now, so if you run into issues, please feel free to email myself or Brandon.  Here are the updates for the week of 8/26/22

  1. Eligibility questions are starting to happen, so we ask that teams follow this protocol to make it as efficient as possible.

Protocol for Eligibility Review and Appeals

  1. All requests for review must come from the team (Coach, Team Pres, GM, etc.). Individuals the bring requests will be directed to go through the team leadership

  2. All Reviews start by going through the Divisional Commissioner.

  3. Once the Divisional Commissioner makes a ruling, teams have the right to appeal that decision if they do choose to.

  4. Appeal process can be found on p. 29-30 in the ACHA Manual

  1. We have become aware of a glitch in the Portal that has teams being designated as “Adult College” and does not give you have option for “Mens” or Womens” and then a Divisional option.  USAH is aware of it and is currently getting the developers to figure out why some of the teams are being filtered into this area.  This is NOT affecting your information being put in the ACHA Portal, so you can continue to accept that division and they will make the change in the backend of the site to fix it.

  1. Update on Schedules

    1. Please make sure you are using the template found on the website. It is the properly formatted to be accepted by the site.

    2. We will be updating the excel sheet with the new or missing teams over the weekend.

    3. Please, double check the names of the teams you input. Common issues are

      1. University misspelled

      2. University in the wrong place (ie. University of Central Oklahoma-Correct, Central Oklahoma University-Wrong)

      3. There needs to be a Divisional designation before each team (M1, W1, etc.)

      4. If your venue is not listed, indicate that in the email that you send to Kristen at “kderamo@chahockkey.org with your Home Schedule spreadsheet. You can put the venue in the spreadsheet and it will be added prior to the schedule being imported.

  1. Leaguestat Logins: All teams are given a “Team Rep” account and a “Scorekeeper” account. A Reminder of the difference.

    1. Scorekeeper: This is a generic account for your team that can be given to anyone that will be doing the live scoring of a game.  It only has access to that week’s games and can’t make any changes to anything in the system

    2. Team Rep: This account allows for the games to be scored “post game.”  It also gives access to team information for changes like jersey numbers, positions, etc.

If you do not have a login or if you forgot yours, please email Brandon Russ (bruss@achahockey.org) and he can provide you with that information

  1. Dues and Forms

    1. Reminder dues can be paid online at shopacha.com or an invoice can be downloaded from the ACHA website

    2. Fall Eligibility forms are due by 10/31

As always, if you run into issues, please email myself (dkurtz@achahockey.org) or Brandon Russ (bruss@achahockey.org)
