Men’s Division 2 Announces Central Region Coach of the Year

Troy, Michigan:  The Men's Division 2 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to announce this year's Central Region Coach of the Year, Kevin Brooks from University of Iowa.

Mr. Brooks led the Hawkeyes to the 19-2-0-1 record this year, and the #3 seed in the Central Region.  Under Brooks, Iowa has seen tremendous success both in the Central Region and Nationally.  Coming off a National Runner Up finish to the 22/23 season, Kevin helped to guide his team to several weeks ranked as the #2 team in the Central, the highest in program history.  The Hawkeyes also reached a ranking of #7 in the country this season, another high mark of the team.

Two players on Brook's team were selected to the All-Central Regional Teams with Justin Howard making 2nd team goalie and Brian Raffone making 1st team Defense.  Iowa also won the MACHA regular season and playoff championships this past season.   Kevin, along with the other Regional Coaches of the Year, are the finalists for the 2023/2024 Men's Division 2 National Coach of the Year, which will be announced next month.
