Former Maine forward Aidan Carney has transferred to Liberty University in the ACHA, it was announced last week.
Carney, a product of Paradise Valley, Ariz., got into five games with the Black Bears this past season but went pointless. Over three seasons with the team, he scored two goals and added an assist for three points in 24 career games.
Prior to heading off to the NCAA, Carney played his junior hockey in the BCHL (Wenatchee Wild), NCDC (Islanders Hockey Club & Utica Jr. Comets) and the NAHL (Lone Star Brahmas & Amarillo Wranglers).
With Carney heading off to the ACHA, he should be able to have an immediate impact for his team. Club hockey has continued to get better over the years and has attracted talent from all across North America, continuing to elevate its status. Some top teams have even showed that they can compete with NCAA programs, making it all the more enticing to follow.
