CSCHC November 18th-21st Recap

From Colonial States College Hockey Conference

By Michael Battista

Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at the Colonial States College Hockey Conference!

Last weekend had a crowded Friday slate with nine conference teams in action. Three of those games needed overtime to decide a winner and four of them saw a team score five goals. The lone shutout of the weekend belonged to The College of New Jersey, whose 3-0 win over Rutgers kept them on pace in the top half of the Liberty Division.

West Chester had an exceptional weekend, downing both Monmouth in a conference clash and Drexel University’s D2 team (MACH). Dylan Storz had a five point tally with assists in both games for the Golden Rams. Meanwhile Levi Jones’ earned a hat trick against the Hawks on Saturday night.

Both UPenn and Millersville remained in the ACHA Southeast’s Top 20 ranking heading into last weekend. The Quakers dropped following a loss and now sit at #18 while the Marauders are now ranked #19.

Finally, two games that were scheduled did not take place. Millersville’s road game against Stevenson University (MACH) on Friday night was postponed, with plans for the Marauders to still make the trip down to Owings Mills, Maryland at a later date. Additionally, the rescheduled match between Princeton and Seton Hall, originally set for September 26, has been declared a forfeit win for the Pirates. Another issue with officials resulted in Princeton agreeing to forfeit rather than attempt to reschedule the game again.
