Sioux Center, Iowa — The Defender hockey team is ranked 17th in the newest poll released by the ACHA on Friday. Dordt moved up two spots in ACHA Division 3 since being ranked 19th in the previous poll.

Dordt enters Christmas break with an 11-5 record, winning four of their last six games. Their most recent outing was at #12 Nebraska, where the Defenders left with an 8-7 overtime victory. Four of Dordt’s opponents this season are in the top 25 of the rankings, with Air Force at #9, Iowa State at #11, Nebraska at #12, and Missouri State at #1

The regular season will come to a close quickly as the Defenders return to the ice on January 21 and will complete the season on February 5. Dordt will play a weekend series at Creighton, host Nebraska for two games, and will split home-and-away matchups with Iowa State.
