The Don Spencer Award for Volunteer Service is named after one of the founding members of the ACHA. Mr. Spencer was part of the group of coaches that started the organization in 1991. He served as the Treasurer from 1991-1995, and was the Head Coach and GM of both Men's Division 1&2 teams at West Virginia University
