Donovan Gault, a Grand Forks, ND native has been named Teton Head Men’s Ice Hockey Coach.

“I’m excited to come to Williston and get to work. Growing up in North Dakota and playing hockey, we used to come to Williston a lot and it was always a fun game. The community supports the hockey teams well and it will be fun to coach in front of those crowds now. I think we have a great group of guys this year!” Coach Gault said. “My goal coming in here is to compete for a national title. The Tetons won back-to-back titles in the NJCAA, and I think we have the makings of becoming championship contenders again in the ACHA.”

He has a vast array of experiences, including being a scout for the Bozeman Icedogs (NA3HL), Steel County Blades (USPHL Premier), and Weyburn Red Wings (SJHL). Gault was an assistant coach for Minot High School for one season and he was the Associate Head Coach for Minot State Women’s Hockey during the 2018-19 season, in which they finished 2nd place at nationals!

As a player, Gault played at Dakota College Bottineau and then went on to play professional hockey for both the Carnduff Red Devils and NIK Swedish. Athletic Director Jayden Olson stated,

“Donovan has an extreme passion for hockey, which you can sense with every conversation you have. He brings a great energy about him and has high expectations for both himself and his program. We are excited for him to lead Teton Hockey!”
