FLOSPORTS SECURES NAMING RIGHTS TO AMERICAN COLLEGIATE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
TROY, MI (September 9, 2022) – The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), the governing body for non-NCAA men’s and women’s hockey in the United States, announced today that FloSports, a leader in sports streaming and original content, has entered into a five-year agreement regarding the naming rights for the ACHA National Championships. The annual post-season tournament will be called the “ACHA National Championships presented by FloHockey.”
FloSports acquired HockeyTech in 2021, a live and on-demand hockey streaming platform and sports data provider to teams, leagues, and national organizations. The acquisition represented a significant programming commitment and technology investment into an underserved segment of one of the world’s most popular sports. Combined with FloSports’ offering on its FloHockey platform, the company and its HockeyTech subsidiary will broadcast nearly 40,000 hockey games annually and deliver an enhanced live sports viewing experience driven by HockeyTech’s sports data.
HockeyTech’s LeagueStat technology, utilized by the ACHA and its member programs throughout the past two seasons, is used by league officials to tabulate the official statistics at hockey games. In real time, those game stats immediately feed to league, team and media websites and mobile apps for fan consumption.
“We’re excited to continue the relationship that FloSports subsidiary, HockeyTech, has built and to welcome the ACHA into the FloHockey family,” said Matt Bowlsby, FloSports’ Senior Director for Global Rights Acquisition. “This has been a vital partnership that allows us to cover the sport of hockey from top-to-bottom. The ACHA has done an incredible job in the collegiate hockey space to provide opportunities to student-athletes to continue to play the sport they love and we can’t wait to continue to support their efforts.”
“We are very excited about the ACHA’s partnership with FloSports and thrilled to have FloHockey as the title sponsor for our next five National Championships,” said Craig Barnett, ACHA Executive Director. “Our partnership with HockeyTech, and now FloSports, has validated the ACHA as a viable college hockey option for prospective student-athletes globally. We are grateful that FloSports recognizes the tremendous value the ACHA provides with over 13,000 student-athletes and coaches, and we expect the continued relationship between FloSports and the ACHA to prove beneficial to all involved.”
The 2023 ACHA National Championships presented by FloHockey will be held at the New England Sports Center (NESC) in Marlborough, Mass. from March 16-21, 2023.
The agreement between the ACHA and FloSports will also guarantee a specific amount of streaming revenue to the ACHA from the ACHA National Championships presented by FloHockey over the term of the agreement.
