The West Bend Power of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Hunter O’Neal has committed to play ACHA Division I college hockey for Illinois State University (Normal, Illinois).
The Milwaukee, Wisconsin native has been a large part of the West Bend Power’s defensive unit for the past two seasons.
The best statistical season for the puck-moving defenseman came in 2025-26 when he recorded 11 total points for the Power across 41 games. Those 11 points were made up of 11 assists. The 11 assists also left the 2006 birth year in the top five in assists by a defenseman on the Power.
The best performance of the 2025-26 season from O’Neal came on Dec. 6 against the Wisconsin Woodsmen. In the game, O’Neal had an assist on the first, third and fifth goals scored by the Power in the team’s decisive victory over the Woodsmen.
O’Neal is the only player from the West Bend Power to make a college commitment this season.
