Brad Fortin had two goals and the No. 4 Jimmie men’s ACHA Division 1 hockey team took down second-ranked Minot State University 4-1 Monday afternoon at John L. Wilson Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Fortin picked up his 14th goal of the season at 10:21 of the first period on assists by Reid Wilson and Brenden Vulcano.
The lead grew to 2-0 for Jamestown as Philippe Lessard scored his second of the year at 13:01, with assists by Brayden Michalchuk and Vulcano.
UJ went ahead 3-0 on Fortin’s second of the game, coming at 4:24 of the second period, from Kole Christensson and Wilson.
Minot State got on the scoreboard thanks to Carter Barley’s goal at 5:46 of the second. Colby Joseph and Walker Jerome got the assists.
Alek Erichuk put the Jimmies ahead by three goals with his power play goal at 17:05 of the second. It was the fourth of the year (second on the power play) for Erichuk and assisted by Matthew Poole and Logan Berggren.
Neither team scored in the third period as UJ outshot the Beavers 16-4.
FOR THE JIMMIES
Brandon Weare had 17 saves in goal.
Jamestown outshot Minot State 28-18.
UJ defeated the #2 team in the ACHA Division 1 rankings for the second straight game. The Jimmies defeated then-number two Central Oklahoma 3-2 and 5-0 on November 17-18.
