Greetings to everyone, We are now a month into the 22/23 season and everyone in Hockey Ops is hard at work answering emails and trying to get rosters approved and into the LeagueStats system. Below are a couple updates to hopefully help teams as most will be playing games by the end of the this month.

COACHING REQUIREMENTS: Hockey Ops is now getting regular updates from USA Hockey with a list of where coaches are in the completing their requirements. As stating in previous updates, coaches need to do their Safesport training (every year) and have their Background Checks done (every other year) in order to be on the bench. The ACHA is granting a temporary approval until 12/30/2022 to those coaches with those two requirements completed while they attain their CEP from USAH up to date. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND GETTING THE CEP DONE NOW AND NOT WAIT UNTIL DECEMBER.

COACHES ERROR MESSAGE IN USAH PORTAL In relation to the above information, teams that are in the ACHA portal that have been given the tag “Issue Found” means that there is no approved coach on the roster AND not listed in the USAH email as having Safesport and Background Check completed.

SCHEDULE CHANGES: Hockey Ops is starting to get emails with changes to schedules. We ask that you send additions or changes in an email OR if you are using the template, please do not resend your entire schedule, just send the changes.

CHROME BROWSER: The glitch mentioned in the 9/9 update still has not been fixed, so if you are using the Chrome Browser, you will need to right-click on the link, choose save link as, and it give a window to download the file.

W2 INFO ON WEBSITE: Last Sunday, Women’s Division 2 information in the scoring system disappeared. Working with the HockeyTech Support department, the teams are now back into the scoring system and we are currently working on getting them linked properly back in with the website. We appreciate your patience as we deal with this issue.

TEAM ROSTERS: Many of the rosters in the website have all their players listed a "Forwards" and "Jersey #1," this is the default information for the scoring system if it is not in the portal when a roster is uploaded. When changes are made they MUST be done in the scoring system. Click on Roster Management, then the Edit Mode in the upper right of the screen. This will open all the fields on the roster. After the changes, click Save All, and the changes will update on the website

HEADSHOTS OF PLAYERS ON WEBSITE: There have been several requests for help putting headshots into the rosters. They can be added by going to the roster in the scoring system, clicking on a player’s name, then clicking on the Media tab. This will take you to a page that you upload a picture.

GAMES vs. NON-SANCTIONED USAH TEAMS: It has recently come to our attention that some ACHA teams have played games against non-sanctioned teams. Specifically, club teams from Canada that are not sanctioned by Hockey Canada. A cautionary point about engaging in any exhibition or non-ACHA tournament games against teams that are not sanctioned by entities like USA Hockey or Hockey Canada. When ACHA teams participate in such games they run the risk of losing the coverage provided under the USA Hockey insurance program. Obviously, this could result in significant uninsured losses for the affected ACHA member program and its participants.
