Jimmies Score Seven In Shutout Of Waldorf

Seven different players had a goal as the University of Jamestown hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Waldorf (Iowa) University Saturday afternoon with a 7-0 victory at Wilson Arena.

Cole Haukaas (FR/The Pas, Manitoba) notched his first collegiate goal at 6:32 of the first, coming on the power play with assists by Greg Susinski (SO/Calgary, Alberta) and Gage Thompson (JR/Valley City, N.D.). Just 19 seconds later, Keaton Cline (SO/Killarney, Manitoba) made it 2-0 Jimmies with Justin Dumont (SO/Atlanta, Ga.) and Tyson Brouwer (SR/Lethbridge, Alberta) getting the helpers.

Marquez Ginger (SO/Augusta, Ga.), Mario DeCapite (FR/Calgary, Alberta), and Jason Richter (SR/Cranbrook, British Columbia) all scored in the second as the Jimmies’ lead grew to 5-0 heading into the third.

Jordon Kromm (SO/Calgary, Alberta) scored a shorthanded goal at 10:44 of the third to make it 6-0, and Logan Berggren (SO/Cypress, Calif.) rounded out the scoring at 17:55 of the third for the seventh UJ goal.

Susinski, Morgan Venne (SO/Saskatoon, Saskatchewan), and Jake Huculak (SO/Jasper, Alberta) all had a pair of assists. Ginger, Kromm, Bo Cornell (SO/Legal, Alberta), Reid Wilson (SO/Castlegar, British Columbia), and Gage Thompson recorded an assist.

Brouwer had 29 saves in the shutout.

Jamestown is back in action Wednesday at Grand Canyon University.
