M3 Hope skates to 10-0 start after sweeping Oakland

Hope College is staying red-hot on the ice this season, sweeping Oakland University this weekend to remain undefeated.

The Flying Dutchmen won, 11-0 and 4-2, to raise their American Collegiate Hockey Association record to 10-0.

On Saturday at Griff’s IceHouse West, Hope used a two-goal second period on home ice to take a 3-2 lead. Senior Brad Baysore, pictured, tied the score five minutes into the period, while senior Max Mones netted the game-winner with three minutes remaining.

Goalie Lukas Schut made 16 saves for Hope.

On Friday, the Flying Dutchmen erupted for five first-period goals.

Senior Allan Hirsch and Baysore each finished with two goals and one assist. Goalie Maclane Schick posted a seven-save shutout.

Hope returns to action on Friday-Saturday, Nov. 12-13, with a two-game series against Michigan State University.
