From Park University Gilbert Athletics
The American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) has informed Park University Gilbert of its acceptance into the league starting with the 2023-24 season. Park Gilbert Director of Athletics Jeff Fore received an official acceptance letter Wednesday afternoon May 31, 2023.
“We are excited to officially be members of the ACHA,” said Bucs head coach Jeff Zimmel. “Recruiting has been going well and this is another feather in our caps in the process of building a quality program.”
Zimmel and his staff are still hard on the recruiting trail as they build their roster for the inaugural season which will commence with games in September Zimmel has eight players in his inaugural class so far and is looking to field a squad with 20-25 players.
The season schedule has not been finalized. The Buccaneers will play their home games at the Mesa Community Ice Center (140 N. Country Club Rd., Mesa, AZ).
