Dearborn, Mich. – The #21 Lawrence Technological University ACHA D1 men’s hockey team trailed 3-2 after the opening period, but a two-goal second allowed the #18 University of Michigan-Dearborn to pull away from the Blue Devils on its way to a 5-3 win on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened:
LTU scored first, 3:24 into the game, as Erik Engdahl scored on the power play off assists from Bryce Ebert and Ethan Grover
UMD knotted the game 19 seconds later before scoring again 5:35 into the first period to take a 2-1 lead
LTU tied the score at 2-2 off another power play goal, as Ebert netted one at the 8:42 mark of the first
UMD got its second power play goal of the game at the 14:37 mark to hold a slim 3-2 advantage at the first intermission
After a quiet second period, the Wolverines scored twice in 32 second to extend their lead to 5-2 with 2:38 left until the second intermission
Jack Lebar found Grover to give LTU its third goal of the game with 6:17 remaining but UMD held off the Blue Devils to win it 5-3
