WOMEN’S DIVISION ONE ANNOUNCES 2025-2026 AWARDS

 

Troy, MI — (April 21, 2026) The American Collegiate Hockey Association announced today the 2025-2026 All-Athletic teams, Zoe Harris award winner, and Coach of the Year for women’s division one. All the awards are decided by the competition committee, which is made up of seven coaches in the division.

 

ALL-ATHLETIC TEAMS:

Each conference (CCWHA, WMCH, WWCHL) provides their First All-Athletic teams, and the independent teams are able to nominate players as well.

FIRST TEAM ALL-ATHLETIC
Haley Beckett, SO, Maryville University (Collingwood, ON) Forward

The first team accounted for 88 goals, 70 assists and a total of 158 points. The first team goalie, Kenna Borso, played in 24 regular season games with a goals against average of 1.34, and a save percentage of 0.94. The first team features five players who made an appearance at the 2026 ACHA National Championships.

The second team accounted for 65 goals, 63 assists for a total of 128 points. The second team goalie, Alexandra Keith, played in 20 regular season games with a goals against average of .94, and a save percentage of 0.96. The second team features five of players who made appearances at the 2026 ACHA National Championships. An honorable mention goes to Morgan LaValley from University of Utah.

 

There are six of our thirty-two women’s division one teams represented on the All-Athletic teams. Of those six teams represented, four have made this year’s National Tournament.

 

 

ZOE HARRIS PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD:

The 2026 recipient of the Women’s Division One Zoe Harris Award is Cadence Pero from University of Michigan-Dearborn. The Zoe Harris Award, which recognizes the ACHA’s regular season player of the year, is the top individual award a player can receive.

 

Cadence Pero is a Senior from London, Ontario. Pero played in thirty-two (32) regular season games this season. She scored twenty-six (26) goals. Five (5) of those goals were game winning goals, and eight (8) of the goals were power play goals. She also had thirty-three assists (33), for a total of fifty-nine (59) points.

 

COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD:

The 2026 recipient of the Women’s Division One Coach of the Year award is Chris Lowes from Liberty University. This is the fourth time in six years that Lowes has won this award.

 

Lowes took over the Head Coaching role on the Women’s side after nine (9) seasons coaching the ACHA Men’s Division two team. He took over the Women’s Head Coaching role in 2017. Since taking over, the Flames have won the National Championship four of the last six seasons (2017, 2018, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2025).

 

This season, the Flames head into the National Tournament ranked No. 1. They are WMCH Conference Tournament Champions. The team has a 29-0-1-0 record. They are a very disciplined team with only 146 penalty minutes for the season. They have scored 165 goals and allowed 27 goals against  with a goal differential of 138.
