From Purdue Northwest Athletics
The #16 Purdue Northwest ACHA DI Hockey team began the week sweeping Aquinas College with strong performances. The Pride defeated the Saints on Monday, 4-1, and then dominated on Tuesday night, 8-3.

Freshman Brock Behrend (Luverne, Minn.) led Purdue University Northwest with two goals and one assist.
Senior Michael Clough (Andover, Minn./) added one goal and two assists for the Pride.
Sophomore Baden Powell (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/) contributed one goal and two penalty minutes.
Sophomre Carson Finney (Holt, Mich./) recorded two assists during the game.
Freshman goalie Caleb Kril (Whitmore Lake, Mich.) made 25 saves on 26 shots to earn the win.
Gavin Rozema scored the lone goal for Aquinas College, assisted by Arseniy Malyutin.
Jean Berthaudin made 52 saves on 56 shots in net for Aquinas College.
The Breakdown
Purdue Northwest struck first in the first period with a goal from Brock Behrend (Luverne, Minn.) to take a 1-0 lead.
The Pride extended their lead early in the second period with goals from Baden Powell (Calgary, Alberta, Canada/) and Michael Clough (Andover, Minn./) to make it 3-0.
Aquinas College got on the board midway through the third period with a goal from Gavin Rozema.
Purdue Northwest responded quickly with a goal by Brodie Mcintyre (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) to regain a three-goal advantage at 4-1.
Despite pressure from Aquinas in the final minutes, Purdue Northwest’s defense and goaltending held firm to secure the 4-1 victory.

Inside The Numbers
Junior Cooper Knott (Glenwood Springs, Colo./) led Purdue University Northwest with two goals and one assist.
Junior Dylan Dekoe (Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada) added two goals to help the Pride’s offense.
Behrend contributed one goal and two assists.
Sophomore Kolin Leduc (Macomb, Mich./) had three assists, setting up multiple scoring chances.
Finney recorded one goal and one assist in the win.
Kril made 23 saves on 26 shots before being replaced late in the third period and still recorded his second straight win.
Senior Isaac Hyde (Ft. Wayne, Ind./) played the final eight minutes in goal for PNW and made one save.
Gavin Rozema scored his fifth goal of the season for Aquinas College.
Alex Johnson and Braylen Outwater each added a goal for Aquinas College.
Simon Johnson faced 60 shots, making 52 saves in net for Aquinas College.
The Breakdown
Purdue Northwest struck early in the first period, scoring three goals within the first eight minutes to take control of the game.
Aquinas College answered with a goal by Gavin Rozema late in the first period and followed with a second-period goal from Braylen Outwater to cut the deficit to 3-2.
PNW extended their lead again in the second period with goals from Cooper Knott (Glenwood Springs, Colo./) and Michael Clough (Andover, Minn./) to push the score to 5-2 heading into the third.
Early in the third period, Dylan Dekoe (Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada) scored to increase the Pride’s lead to 6-2.
Aquinas College responded quickly with a goal from Alex Johnson to bring the score to 6-3.
Purdue Northwest finished strong with goals from Brock Behrend (Luverne, Minn.) and Brodie Mcintyre (Burlington, Ontario, Canada) to seal an 8-3 victory.

Purdue Northwest will now begin GL6 play when they play a home-and-home weekend series against Davenport. PNW will host the Panthers on Friday, October 17 with puck drop set for 7:30 PM CT at The Kube in Hammond, Indiana and then travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan on Saturday, October 18 with gametime scheduled for 5:30 PM CT.
