Adrian ACHA Men’s Hockey Revamps Coaching Staff

ADRIAN, Mich. – Assistant athletic director and ACHA men’s division 1 hockey head coach, Gary Astalos, announced changes to the ACHA men’s hockey coaching staffs on Tuesday afternoon. Former ACHA men’s division 3 hockey coach, Doug Raymond, has been named the associate head coach of the division 1 team. Justin Snyder was named the head coach of the division 3 team.

Raymond started with Adrian College in 2020 where he led the division 3 team. Over the last two seasons, Raymond led the division 3 team to a combined 23-16-3 record. He also served as an assistant coach of the division 1 team including the 2020-21 season where the division 1 team went on to win a national championship.

Snyder served as a volunteer assistant coach for the ACHA men’s division 2 hockey team at Adrian College last season. Snyder primarily worked with forwards along with the penalty kill special teams. Prior to Adrian, he worked two seasons for the ACHA division 3 hockey team at Toledo University where he served as an assistant.

Prior to coaching, Snyder played junior hockey for the Fort Wayne Federals (GLJHL), the Findlay Growl, and the Kenosha Ice Devils. During his time with the three teams, he was named team captain.

Snyder will begin his coaching responsibilities immediately for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
