BURTON, Mich. — The Adrian College Women’s ACHA Division 1 hockey team defeated Indiana Tech, 3-2, in an exciting triple overtime game to clinch the program’s sixth consecutive CCWHA Conference Playoff Championship, and their third straight against Indiana Tech.

#1 Seed Indiana Tech opened the scoring late in the first period thanks to a power play goal. They would then tally once more to open the second period before #2 Seed Adrian battled back with some goals of their own. Mackenzie Parent and Kali Foerster provided the tallies for Adrian to tie it at 2 after two periods of play. An exciting but scoreless third period would result in some extra time needed.

Not one, not two, but three overtime periods were needed to solve this one as Ashlynn Stitt sealed it for the Bulldogs off a slot chance in front of the net in the dying minutes of the third overtime period. Goaltender, Chloe Burt, who was a brick wall for the Bulldogs this weekend and all season, made a whopping 59 saves to secure the win. After the game, Burt was also named the Goaltender of the Tournament for her performance in the CCWHA Playoffs.

The win gives the Women’s ACHA Division 1 program their sixth CCWHA Conference Playoff Championship and secured them an auto-bid to the upcoming ACHA National Championship Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri.
