CCWHA Division 1 Announces 2023-24 Season Awards; Seven Bulldogs Earn Honors

ADRIAN, Mich. — The Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association (CCWHA) released its 2023-24 season awards on Friday, announcing placements for the First and Second All-Conference and All-Rookie teams, with seven members of the Adrian College Women’s ACHA Division 1 team earning honors throughout the three awards teams.

Captain Tess McKerrow, Assistant Captain Allison Shaw, and goaltender Chloe Burt earned spots on the CCWHA All-Conference First Team, while forward Macy Piche and defenseman Kali Foerster earned spots on the All-Conference Second Team. Forwards Makenzie Villiard and Sydney White claimed spots on the All-Rookie Team, as well as Foerster.

McKerrow (Kitchener, Ontario, Canada), finished her first season as Team Captain with 12 goals and 28 assists for 40 points in 34 games played, good enough for third on the team in scoring and first in assists. The award marks the first All-Conference regular season selection for the Junior forward, who also reached the 100 career point plateau earlier this season.

Shaw (Belle River, Ontario, Canada), finished her Junior season and first as an Assistant Captain with 14 goals and 27 assists for 41 points in 34 games played, placing her tied for first on the team in points. Additionally, Shaw led her team with five power play goals and placed first in the entire nation in points by a defenseman. The award also marks the first All-Conference regular season selection for the third-year defenseman.

Burt (Maidstone, Saskatchewan, Canada), finished her Senior season and second with the Bulldogs holding a 17-6-3 record, along with a .935 save percentage, 1.36 goals against average, and seven shutouts. Burt led the nation in games played (27), wins (17), and minutes played (1,583) in 2023-24. She also earned the Goaltender of the Tournament award for the CCWHA Division 1 Playoffs earlier this month. The award marks the first All-Conference regular season selection for the graduating netminder.

Piche (Kapuskasing, Ontario, Canada), wrapped up her Sophomore season finished tied for first in team scoring with 14 goals, 27 assists, and 41 points in 34 games played. Piche also finished tied for first on the team in game-winning goals this season. The award gives her the first All-Conference regular season selection of her career.

Foerster (Alliston, Ontario, Canada), put together quite a season as a Freshman on the back end for Adrian, closing her season with five goals and 14 assists for 19 points in 32 games played, landing her in sixth place for points by a rookie defenseman across the nation. Foerster’s performance this season also landed her a spot on the CCWHA All-Rookie team, giving her two All-Conference selections to open her college hockey career.

Villiard (Fenton, Michigan), transferred to Adrian from NCAA DIII this season, making an impact right away, putting up four goals and 18 assists for 22 points in 34 games played, landing her in one of the forward spots on the All-Rookie team.

White (Barrie, Ontario, Canada), concluded her Freshman season as one of Adrian’s top scorers, finishing with nine goals and 20 assists in 34 games played. White finished tied for second on the team in power play goals and tied for first in game-winning goals, earning a forward spot on the conference All-Rookie team.

The No. 3 Adrian College Women’s ACHA Division 1 hockey team is fresh off its sixth consecutive CCWHA Conference Playoff Championship, and is preparing to compete at the upcoming ACHA National Championship Tournament in March.
