CCWHA W1 RIVALRY IS THE GAME OF THE WEEK: INDIANA TECH AT ADRIAN COLLEGE
TROY, Mich. – (December 6, 2023) – This week’s game of the week is Indiana Tech at Adrian College in a Thursday night match-up. Going into this weekend, the Warriors are ranked No. 9, while the Bulldogs are ranked at No. 3. These teams have met each other in several high stakes games including the 2022 CCWHA Playoff Championship game, and again in 2023 in the National Tournament quarterfinal round.
Indiana Tech Head Coach, Scott Hicks, said this about the matchup, “This is a rivalry game, plain and simple. Two high quality teams that circle these match ups every year!”
Indiana Tech joined the ACHA in the 2021-2022 season. They finished last season ranked fifth and with that, they made their second appearance at the National Tournament. They are 13-3-0-0 this season.
Adrian College joined the ACHA in 2012-2013 season. They finished last season ranked fourth and with that they made their tenth appearance at the National Tournament. They are 13-4-0-0 this season.
“We have played eleven (11) times in the past two years. Eight (8) regular season games and three (3) post season games. There is also just nothing like a rivalry game, it sparks up emotions you don’t typically feel and I know our girls are definitely ready for this one,” said Adrian College Head Coach, Carter Clarke.
In addition to being members of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), both teams are members of the Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association (CCWHA). Information about the ACHA can be found at achahockey.org and information on the CCWHA can be found on their website ccwha.net.
This will be the first series between these teams. This week’s game is set for December 7th at 7:30 pm EST. The game will be played at Arrington Ice Arena located at 273 S Charles Street, Adrian, MI 49221.
