Cody Creasy of the Kamloops Storm has committed to play for the Arizona State University Sun Devils in the American Collegiate Hockey Association.

Last season Creasy went 10-7 in 21 Kootenay International Junior Hockey League games for the Storm and registered one shutout. Over two seasons, the Brandon, Manitoba product was 19-10 in 36 games and had four shutouts.

During the season Creasy improved his puck handling, which helped him score a highlight goal into an empty net. Creasy was featured on the Top Shelf podcast to talk about that memorable moment, which can be heard at the 14:40 mark.

Creasy credits getting the chance to play and “improve my abilities” for earning this opportunity with Arizona State University.

“I’m very thankful for the support of family, friends, teammates, coaches and trainers in the effort to help me get to where I am today,” said Creasy.

Storm General Manager Matt Kolle said it was a pleasure having Creasy wear the Kamloops Storm jersey.

“He is not only a good goaltender, but a first-class person. In his time with the Storm, he showed to be one of the top goalies in the league and helped us win,” said Kolle. “Cody’s memorable highlight was scoring a goal. A great reward for a special person.”
