Department of Hockey Ops Update

Hey ACHA, first off, on behalf of the Department of Hockey Operations, I want to wish you the happiest of Holidays and a great New Year.  This is the final update for 2022 from the DHO, so let’s jump right in.

  1. The Spring Eligibility forms are going to up on the site soon, make sure you check back for specific Divisions.   Eligibility forms can be found on the ACHA website, click on Resources and then Operations Info & Forms.  Make sure that if you are using the Chrome Browser, you will need to right-click on the link and choose “save the link” for it to download properly.

  1. The 2023 Nationals Website is beginning to be built.  This will have info for both teams and fans for what is going to be happening in Boston.  Schedules, hotels, tickets, and merchandise will be just some of the items you will be able to access.

  1. A final reminder: ALL COACHES need to have their requirements completed by the end of the month. That means Safesport Training, the NCSI Background Check, and updated USAH CEP Level all finished.  If you are not sure of a coach’s status, email Dave Kurtz (dkurtz@achahockey.org) and you will be provided with updated information.

  1. Inputting of scores have gotten much better over the last couple of weeks, but there are still many games still open. Please use this break in the game schedule to get scores in.  If there is a game that is listed that was not played for some reason, please email Brandon Russ (bruss@achahockey.org) with the games that need to be removed.

  1. Another final reminder: Nominations for the 2023 ACHA Hall of Fame must be submitted by the end of December.  Nomination forms can be found on the ACHA website, click on Resources and then Operations Info & Forms.

  1. For M2 programs: Information on the Regional sites will be posting in the next few weeks. Schedules, hotel info, etc.  will be provided to help planning.

  1. With the semester change, there is always lots of adds and drops to team rosters. If adding, please make the new player(s) register with USAH like in the fall, then claim them to your portal roster and submit them.  For dropping players, please make sure you drop them in the portal roster.  With both drop and add, please do NOT put the player into Leaguestats, once they are in the portal, they will be put into the scoring system.

  1. For those thinking about making proposals at this year’s Annual Meeting, the deadline if February 15th. To see the guidelines for preparation and submission, refer to pages 21-24 of the ACHA Manual (can be found on ACHA website; click on Resources and then Operations Info & Forms.)

Once again if there are questions or issues, please feel free to email Dave Kurtz and/or Brandon Russ and we will do our best to help you.

Happy Holidays and New Year,

David Kurtz
