LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Two days ago, three members of the Adrian College NCAA men’s hockey team were named to Team USA for the 2023 World Winter University Games in Lake Placid, N.Y. Today, Henrik Overvall was announced as a member of Team Sweden for the same tournament.
Overvall is a member of the No. 2 Adrian College ACHA men’s Division 1 hockey team. Team Sweden is in Pool A with Canada, Japan, Ukraine, Czech Republic, and Latvia. Pool A will hold its pool play round at SUNY-Canton beginning on January 11.
Overvall is listed as 6’3″ and 200 lbs as a forward on the team. For the Bulldogs this season, Overvall has 19 points with five goals and 14 assists in 20 games played. Two of his goals this season we marked as the game winning goal.
In addition to his roster spot on Team Sweden, Overvall will also hold the role as assistant captain for the team.
Sweden will look to be a top-2 team in Pool A and advance to Lake Placid for the semifinal round and championship. The semifinals are scheduled for January 21 with the championship on January 22 at Herb Brooks Arena.
The gold medal game will be broadcast live on ESPN.
