The Hope College ice hockey team spread the wealth during a season-opening, weekend sweep at Marian University (Wis.).
On Saturday, the Flying Dutchmen skated to a 11-2 victory behind goals from 10 different skaters.
On Friday, Hope won, 10-2, as the two-time defending ACHA champions featured nine different goal scorers.
Senior center Gabe Gunneson (Rockford, Michigan / Forest Hills Northern HS) led Saturday’s scoring burst with two goals and one assist.
Junior right wing Jake Adams (East Grand Rapids, Michigan / East Grand Rapids) and senior forward Kevin Healy (Rockford, Michigan / Rockford) recorded three assists apiece for Hope.
Sophomore goalie Mac Schick (Kohler, Wisconsin / Kohler) was credited with an assist as well as 12 saves.
Sophomore defenseman Nolan Holtrop (Walker, Michigan / Kenowa Hills) topped the Flying Dutchmen’s attack on Friday with two goals.
Adams joined junior defenseman Ashton Bol (Grand Rapids, Michigan / Grand Rapids Christian) and senior forward Mason Weiss (Flushing, Michigan / Michigan Connections) in registering two assists apiece.
Hope (2-0) is scheduled to host Dordt College (Iowa) on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 14-15, at Griff’s Icehouse West.
