M2 Central Region COY and POY Announced

Troy, Mich. (February 24,2023):  The American Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to announce the 2022/2023 Men's Division 2 Central Region Coach and Player of the Year.  The National Player and Coach of the Year will be selected from the four Regional winners.  The schedule of awards can be found on the M2 Awards page.

 

 

2023 Central Region Player of the Year: Ian Malcolmson

This year's award goes to Concordia University of Wisconsin Junior Forward, Ian Malcolmson.  The Waukesha, WI. native helped the Falcons to a 28-6-1 record and the #3 seed in the Central Region.  Malcomson, averaged 2.11 points a game, finishing the year with 76 points (22 G, 54 A).  Malcomson finished the season ranked 3rd nationally in Points, and led all Men's Division 2 in Assists.

This is the first Regional Player of the Year honor for Concordia University of Wisconsin.

 

 

2023 Central Region Coach of the Year: Ben Sjodin, University of Saint Thomas

This year's award goes to the Head Coach of University of Saint Thomas, Ben Sjodin.   Mr. Sjodin led the Tommies to a 27-4-0 record and ended the regular season ranked #2 in the Central Region.  That ranking, the highest in program history, also secured the first National Auto Bid for the team and their first appearance in the National Tournament.
