McKendree Drops North Dakota Trip Finale, Goes 2-1 on the Road

MINOT, N.D. – McKendree University women’s hockey (2-3-1) concluded its weekend road trip on Sunday afternoon, dropping the final outing against Minot State, 3-0. McKendree went 2-1 during its three days in the North Dakota, beating Jamestown on Friday while opening its series against Minot State with a 3-2 victory. The win on Saturday afternoon over the Beavers marked the first win over Minot State for the Bearcats in program history. McKendree will be back in action on Friday, October 28, at home against Grand Valley State.

McKendree went down in the first period to the Beavers, as Minot State put up its first goal in the ninth minute.

Minot added two more goals in the third period and held off the fast-paced Bearcats’ attack, keeping a shutout over McKendree.

The Bearcats fired 21 shots on goal overall with 10 coming in the first period of play and eight in the final 20 minutes of action. Junior goaltender Brianna Burke held the net once again for the Bearcats, grabbing 24 saves on 27 shots by Minot State.
