Men’s Division 2 Announces the Region Players of the Year

Troy, Michigan (3/10/24): The Men's Division 2 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to announce the 2023/2034 Players of the Year for the four regions.  One player from each Region's 1st team All Athletic team is selected to be recognized as top in the Region. 

 

Central Region: Charles Emme, Concordia University of Wisconsin

This freshman had an incredible first season for Concordia, leading the nation in points with 86.  Emme was also tops in the nation with 51 goals.  The Plymouth native helped the Falcons to the #3 seed in the Central Region with his seven Game Winning Goals.  Charles averaged 2.87 goals per game this year for the Falcons.  He was selected as one of the three Central Region All-Americans 1st Team Forwards.  

Northeast Region: Caleb Kaiser, Army

The Junior forward from Fairport, NY, lead the Black Knights in Points with 48 points and assists with 35.  Kaiser was the selected as the Super East Collegiate Hockey League Player of the Year.  In league, he had 41 points in 22 games, 1.86 points per game.  Caleb as also selected as one of three forwards for the Northeast Region All American 1st team.  

Southeast Region, Dylan Kent, Liberty University

Kent, in his first year in the Flames, after three years with Adrian College, helped Liberty achieve another Top 2 spot in the region and another trip to the National Tournament.  Dylan has 25 points on 8 goals and 17 assists.  From the blue line, Kent was 4th on LU in Points and 5th in Assists.  The Beaumont, Alberta native was selected as one of two defensemen to the Southeast Region All-American 1st Team.

West Region, Jorgen Johnson, Montana State University

Johnson led Men's Division 2 in wins with 20, while sporting a 1.73 Goals Against Average and .941% Save Percentage. The Clarkston, MI. native only gave 40 goals for the entire season and only was on the losing side twice.  Jorgen's outstanding play helped Montana State clinch the top seed in the West Region and a return trip to the National Tournament.  He always recognized as the West Region's All-American 1st Team goalie.

 

These four outstanding players are the finalists for the 2023/2024 Men's Division 2 National Player of the Year, which will be announced later this month.
