MU club hockey beat the Missouri State Ice Bears 5-3 on Friday and 8-6 Saturday in a weekend double-header at the Washington Park Ice Arena in Jefferson City, Mo. The Tigers provided transportation for over 50 MU students to fill up the student section, and the fans brought the noise. With fists banging on the glass and cheering that drowned out the ice rink’s speakers, attendees donning gold and maroon alike surrounded the rink. The usual hockey roughhousing ensued, with players slamming each other into the walls, smacking each other’s helmets with their hockey sticks and spitting on whoever was down on the ice. MU will play their last game of 2023 against Maryville University on Sunday, Dec. 10.
