The Minnesota Moose of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Jackson Schaefer has committed to play ACHA Division I hockey at Illinois State University.

Schaefer, 21, wrapped up his final season of junior hockey with the Moose during the 2024-25 campaign, appearing in 44 games. The Sussex, Wisconsin native recorded 11 points (1 goal, 10 assists) on the year. His lone goal came on November 15th in an overtime battle against the Minnesota Wilderness, where he capitalized on the power play to help the Moose secure a point in the standings.

“Jackson was a Captain and a constant in the lineup for the Moose this year. He defends hard, with an edge, and also contributes offensively to the team. Jackson’s level of personal intensity is off the charts,” stated Moose Head Coach Todd Sanden. “He competes as hard in practice as he does in games and has expectations of being the best every day! Jackson has the ability to make an impact for Illinois State immediately and the Minnesota Moose wish him success in his hockey and academic pursuits!”
