NO. 12 UMASS VS NO. 13 NIAGARA – W1 GAME OF THE WEEK
TROY, Mich. – (November 15, 2023) – This week’s game of the week is University of Massachusetts-Amherst vs Niagara University. Going into this weekend, Massachusetts is ranked No. 12, while Niagara is right on their heels ranked at No. 13.
The Minutemen joined the ACHA in the 2002-2003 season. They finished last season ranked 12. They are 6-4-1-0 this season.
This is the first season the Purple Eagles have competed at division one of the ACHA. They were previous members of division two. They are 4-4-1-1 this season.
“As a first year and very young team I think they are doing well and are only going to progressively get stronger this year and in future seasons,” said Niagara University Head Coach Anna Quattro.
In addition to being members of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), both teams are independent members of the league. Information about the ACHA can be found at achahockey.org.
This will be the first series between these teams. This week’s game is set for November 18th at 11:20 pm ET. The game will be played at Mullins Center located at 200 Commonwealth Avenue, Amherst, MA 01003. The game will be live streamed on the UMass Amherst Women’s Ice Hockey Facebook page.
