Oswego State welcomes Anthony Del Tufo

From Oswego State ACHA Hockey

OSWEGO – The Lakers are ecstatic to announce the commitment of goaltender, Anthony Del Tufo! Anthony comes in as a junior transfer from SUNY Plattsburgh’s D3 NCAA program. The 1999 birth year comes from Livingston, NJ where he developed in the New Jersey Hitmen AAA organization. After high school, Del Tufo spent time in the EHL and NAHL before heading to Plattsburgh State in 2020.  “Del Tufo joins us from a historic program at the Division 3 level. His leadership in the locker room and on the ice should directly impact all of the guys positively and boost our tandem at the goaltending position,” says Head Coach Travis Hyde. Del Tufo will join Thomas McAleer (’24) as the 1-2 tandem punch that should fit well for the Lakers. After losing start Alex Gallose last season, it has been a high priority to ensure strength at the goalie position. “We have all the trust in (Thomas) Mac to be the star and shine with this opportunity to follow after Gallose. They were great together last year. I’m excited to see what Del Tufo brings to the table to help carry the work-load as a tandem with Mac. Having both of these guys working together to win games for the program is a recipe I am extremely excited about,” says Hyde.

In his last season of junior with the EHL Philadelphia Revolution, Del Tufo accumulated a 2.93 GAA and .932 Save percentage in 19 games played and an EHL 2nd Team All Star nomination. This past season with Plattsburgh, Del Tufo showed in 18 games played posting a 3.14 GAA and .891 save percentage. When asked about the commitment, Del Tufo had this to say on Oswego and the ACHA program, “I chose Oswego to be a part of the Laker community and tradition, its renowned education program, and an opportunity to continue pursuing my hockey career. The Laker ACHA program has found success, and I am excited to help the team compete for a national championship.”

The Lakers will kick off their season on September 17 at home vs Temple University. Puck drop is slated for 7:30PM. All games are free to students and the public so be sure to attend and cheer on the Lakers this season!
