SEAN LEVIN NAMED AMERICAN COLLEGIATE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION MEN’S DIVISION II COMMISSIONER
Jon Eccles to remain as M2 Deputy Commissioner and West Regional Coordinator
TROY, Mich. – (June 2, 2025) – The American Collegiate Hockey Association, the governing body for non-NCAA collegiate hockey in the United States, announced today that Sean Levin has been named as ACHA Men’s Division II Commissioner.
“I’m honored at the opportunity to be the next ACHA Men’s Division II Commissioner,” said Levin. I want to extend my sincere thanks to Craig Barrett and Jon Eccles for their trust and support. My vision is to elevate the Men’s Division II level by creating a strong foundation that supports the student-athlete experience, fosters their growth both in the classroom and on the ice, and empowers coaching staffs with the resources and guidance they need to build successful programs.”
Levin has a long history with the ACHA, beginning as a student-athlete while playing for Rider University from 2002 to 2007. Upon graduation from Rider, Levin served as Assistant Coach for the Broncs from 2008 through 2011. In 2012, Levin was named Head Coach of the Rider hockey team and served in that capacity for ten years. As Head Coach of the Broncs, Levin was twice named Coach of the Year by the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Hockey Association (MACH) and his Rider team secured the MACH Championship in 2022. Since 2023, Levin has served as General Manager and Team Advisor for the Rider University hockey program.
Levin was an Executive Board Member of the MACH from 2015 through 2022. During his eight-year tenure on the MACH Executive Board, Levin served as the Vice-President before being named as President of the MACH.
Levin was an Assistant Coach for the ACHA Men’s Division II Select Team that participated in the 2019 Student Hockey Challenge in Barnaul, Russia. Levin will be the General Manager for the ACHA Men’s Division II Select Team will travel to Europe in January 2026 to face university teams from Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.
Levin has been a part of Rider University’s administration since May 2010, where he is currently the Director of Graduate, Continuing Education Admission, and University Partnerships, a position he has held for the past three years.

I am excited for the future of Men’s Division II and am looking forward to working with Sean.”

In addition to naming Levin as Commissioner, the ACHA also announced that Jon Eccles will continue in Men’s Division II leadership by taking on the roles of Men’s Division II Deputy Commissioner and West Regional Coordinator.
“As my real estate business continues to expand and the demands on my time increase, I’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to transition into a new role within the ACHA,” said Eccles. “I remain deeply committed to the success of ACHA Men’s Division II and to supporting the new Commissioner as we move forward. I want to thank the ACHA leadership, our member teams, and the entire hockey community for their ongoing support and partnership.”
“As we all know, Jon Eccles bleeds ACHA red, white, and blue and I am appreciative of all his work over the past six years as Men’s Division II Commissioner,” said Barnett. “This move will allow Jon to continue in a supportive role with the division which really fits his strengths, while at the same time allowing him the opportunity to focus on the demands of his dynamic real estate career.”
In addition to Levin and Eccles, the Men’s Division II leadership group is rounded out by Miguel Pomar as Central Regional Coordinator, Ben Adams as Northeast Regional Coordinator, and Tim Driscoll as Southeast Regional Coordinator.
