Broncho Hockey Update
The UCO Hockey team has moved into the top 25 in Division 1 of the ACHA this week, with consecutive sweeps of conference foes Colorado State and Colorado. The four wins improve the team’s season record to 6-6.
The Colorado game was won in overtime, featuring a hat trick by forward Cullen Hogan. The game capped a solid performance for the Bronchos who have outscored their opponents 19-8 in the last four games.
This year’s team is in a rebuilding phase, skating only 13 players and two goalies, with new coach Tom Philbin and assistant coach Jonas Hostovecky. The team is led in scoring by forwards Ondrej Blaha and Sebastien Doucet with 12 points, followed closely by Cullen Hogan with 11 and Sam Sykes with 10.
The Bronchos head to Missouri State this weekend to take on the Bears who are currently ranked 25th in the standings.
