University of Michigan wins in game against rival Michigan State University

 

TROY, Mich. – (October 2, 2023) – This rivalry game started with a scoreless first period, but would end 3-1 in favor of the Wolverines. The scoring would start in the second period with a University of Michigan power play goal scored by Lucy Hanson (Jr.) with an assist from Keegan Gustafson (So.). The Wolverines would head to the intermission leading 1-0.

 

The scoring would continue in the third period. Michigan State University would tie the game 4:25 into the period. The goal was scored by Freshman Eileen Carey.

 

The Wolverines would go on to score two unanswered goals. The game winner would be a power play goal 16:06 into the third period. The goal was scored by Ava Gargiulo (Jr.) with assists by Julia Lindahl (So.) and Kelsey Swanson (Jr.). The final Wolverine goal was scored by Julia Lindahl with the assist by Kelsey Swanson.
