W1 Maryville upset No. 9 Miami of Ohio this past weekend

The No. 10 nationally ranked W1 Saints traveled to Oxford, Ohio to play the No. 9 nationally ranked Miami of Ohio Redhawks. While it took a bit for the Saints to get going from their bus ride, the women scored four unanswered goals to win 4-1 Friday night. Goals were scored by Sydney Poisson (2), Sarah Brooks, and Colleen O’Leary. Sophomore netminder Sawyer Duncan made 24 saves capturing her third win of the season. With freshman Kaitlyn Cadrain in net Saturday afternoon, the Saskatchewan native recorded the shutout win with 35 saves to capture the weekend series sweep by a score of 4-0. The Saints now sit at 9-7-1 entering the Thanksgiving break.

The W1 Saints will take on the No. 3 nationally ranked Indiana Tech Warriors to end the first semester. They will travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., for the top 10 matchup Friday, Dec. 3, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 4 at 2:30 p.m.
