W1 Semifinals Hit the Ice Later this Afternoon

SEMIFINAL GAMES ARE SET FOR THE W1 ACHA NATIONAL TOURNAMENT

 

St Louis, MO (March 19, 2022) — Day three of the American Collegiate Hockey Association’s women’s division one national tournament decided the final four teams that will compete in the semifinal round of the tournament.

 

In the first game of the day, #4 seed Adrian College faced #5 seed Lindenwood University. The first period saw two goals. Each team scoring one a piece with the bulldogs scoring first. This game came down to the third period. Lindenwood’s Hawryshko scored the even strength, game winning goal at 15:15 of the third period. The bulldogs outshot the lions 40-21. Final: Adrian College 1, Lindenwood University 2

 

In the second game of the day, #3 seed Minot State University faced #6 seed Indiana Tech. Minot started the scoring 20 seconds into the first period and didn’t let up from there. The beavers would end up scoring 4 more, two of which were on an empty net. Shots were even in this one at 27 each. Final: Minot State University 5, Indiana Tech 0

 

In the third game of the day, #2 seed Midland University faced #8 seed University of Massachusetts-Amherst. The warriors outshot the minutemen 42-14. Martin and Shearer for the warriors both scored two goals. Final: Midland University 6, University of Massachusetts-Amherst 0

 

In the final game of the day, #1 seed Liberty University faced #9 seed Maryville University. Despite the score, the saints never wavered in their pressure on the flames. The saints goalie, Cadrain faced 52 shots from the flames vs the saints 9 shots. Final: Liberty University 7, Maryville University 0

 

Today’s semifinal matchups are below:

 

4:00 PM – Liberty University vs Lindenwood University

7:00 PM – Midland University vs Minot State University

 

All games today will be played at Centene Community Ice Center on the USA rink.
