#11 Purdue Northwest sweeps Roosevelt

The #11 Purdue Northwest ACHA DI Hockey swept Roosevelt in a weekend home-and-home series dominating the Lakers at home on Friday night, 8-1, and winning on the road on Saturday night, 8-1.

Game 1

Inside The Numbers

Sophomore Max Beller (Sioux City, Iowa) led the Pride with two goals.

Senior Craig Herman (Bloomington, Minn./Bloomington Kennedy HS), sophomore Andrew Remer (Lake Orion, Mich./), sophomore Patrick Hayes, and freshman Jared Topil (Lincoln, Neb.) each added one goal and one assist.

Sophomore Carter Hobbs (Des Moines, Iowa/) and sophomore Hayden Masloski (Andover, Minn./) each notched one goal during the game.

Freshman Bryce Jacobsen (DeForest, Wis.) chipped in four assists on the night.

Sophomore Cooper Olson (Maple Grove, Minn./) played all 60 minutes between the pipes for the Pride and racked up 23 saves.

Ryo Takano led Roosevelt with one goal.

Harber Cassell and Paolo Suppa each played in the net for the Lakers making 52 total saves.

The Breakdown

The Pride started the game scoring the first two goals in the first period while Roosevelt notched their lone goal in the first as Purdue Northwest took a 2-1 lead heading into the second period.

Purdue Northwest scored three goals in the second and third period to seal the win 8-1

The Pride outshot the Lakers, 60-24.

Game 2

Inside The Numbers

Freshman RJ Swaw (Orland Park, Ill.) led the Pride with two goals.

Sophomore Brennan Schidlowsky (Nipawin, Saskatchewan/) added one goal and one assist.

Masloski and Jacobsen each chipped in three assists.

Olson played all 60 minutes in goal for the Pride and he recorded 19 saves.

Noel Klassen led the Lakers with one goal.

Kassel played all 60 minutes in net for Roosevelt and made 55 saves.

The Breakdown

The Pride lit up the first period to take a commanding 4-0 lead heading into the second.

Both teams added a goal each in the second period but saw Purdue Northwest still holding a 5-1 lead.

The Pride scored three more goals in the third period to take win in dominating fashion, 8-1.

Purdue Northwest ended the game outshooting the Lakers, 63-17.

Up Next

The Pride now take their holiday break for the next few weeks into the new year. The squad get the second half of the season underway when they host Eastern Michigan on Friday, January 12 with puck-drop scheduled for 7:00 PM CT at The Kube.
