Men’s Division 1 Announces Community Service Award Winner

Troy, MI. (4/19/24): The Men's Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to announce the 2023/2024 Community Service Award winner to the University of Arizona.

The Wildcats were heavily involved in both the community and in various causes.  UA raised money for Marana School Districts with ticket fundraiser. Schools made $5 for every ticket sold, raising over $2000. This fundraiser included school visits to each school to help grow the game of hockey in Southern Arizona.  The team also partnered with a local youth hockey program to raise over $1000 toward their costs, through a 50/50 fundraiser. This partnership also included having players and coach attend a few practices to spend time with the kids.  Arizona also hosted a Military Appreciation Night, players wore special jerseys and provided free admission to any military family with ID.

They helped to raise over $6,000 in their annual Pink in the Rink Night.  In front of over 2500 fans, the Wildcats wore pink jerseys with names of purchaser's loved one on back to raise money and awareness for Arizona Cancer Center. Finally, a Teddy Bear Toss done by the team helped to provide two SUVs full stuffed animals for the Aviva Children Services.

University of Arizona, along with the other Division winners will be the finalists for the 2023/2024 ACHA National Community Service Award.  The winner will be announced later this month.
