ACHA Official Earns Opportunities in Professional Hockey

It was a busy offseason for ACHA referee Laura White (Runnemede, NJ) who attended three pro hockey events.  She attended the NHL Exposure Combine in Buffalo, NY, the Lightning Cup in Tampa, FL where she officiated games during the Tampa Bay Lightning Rookie Camp, and AHL Referee Training Camp in Springfield, MA.

“It was such an honor to get to go to the camps and work the rookie games,” White said.  “We had some really great instructors at the Exposure Combine and at Training Camp, and I felt really good on the ice. I was just happy to be there.”

Laura’s hard work and dedication to her craft has paid off, as she has just received her first assignments in the American Hockey League, making her one of the first 10 female officials at that level.  Her first game will be in Allentown, PA on October 23, when the Lehigh Valley Phantoms take on the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Congratulations to Laura and the ACHA is fortunate to have her on our staff.
