Adrian College (2014-2018)

Austyn Roudebush played four seasons as a goaltender for the Adrian College Men’s ACHA Division I hockey program from 2014 through 2018.  During his time as a Bulldog, the Toledo, Ohio native was instrumental in the program’s long-standing success, which included three Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) conference regular season championships, two conference playoff championships, and an ACHA Men’s Division I National Championship; the first in Adrian College’s history.

Over his four-year Bulldog career, Roudebush had a regular season and conference playoff record of 57 wins, 3 losses, and 4 overtime/shootout games.  At Nationals, Roudebush had a record of 4 wins and 2 losses, giving him an overall ACHA record of 61-5-4.  Roudebush’s career save percentage in the regular season and conference playoff games was a stout 94.1 percent.  At Nationals, Roudebush’s save percentage was even better, coming in at 94.9 percent over six game appearances.  Roudebush finished his ACHA career with an astonishing 1.51 goals-against-average and 17 career shutouts, 15 of them coming in the regular season and conference playoffs and the other two shutouts on the ACHA’s biggest stage of the season at Nationals.

In 2015, Roudebush was named to the GLCHL All-Rookie Team as well as the GLCHL All Conference First Team.  The following season, Roudebush earned GLCHL All-Conference Second Team recognition.  Roudebush was selected to the GLCHL All-Conference First Team in 2018 and was also named as the GLCHL Playoff Tournament Most Valuable Player that season.

In addition to conference awards, Roudebush earned numerous national awards.  He was named to the ACHA All-Rookie Team in 2015 and was selected to the ACHA All-American Third Team the following season.  In 2018, Roudebush was named the ACHA Men’s Division I Player of the Year.  He was also named to the All-American First Team that season.  Roudebush was named Most Valuable Player for the 2018 ACHA Men’s Division I National Tournament as he led Adrian College to the 2018 ACHA Men’s Division I National Championship.

After graduating from Adrian in 2018, Roudebush enjoyed a career in professional hockey, overseas in Sweden before returning to the United States in 2019.  Since 2019, Roudebush has predominantly played in the Southern Professional Hockey League with the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs, where he won the SPHL Championship in 2023 and was named the 2023 SPHL Playoff Most Valuable Player.  Roudebush is currently in his eighth season of professional hockey and his sixth season between the pipes for the Rail Yard Dawgs.

Away from the ice, Roudebush found himself on Adrian College’s academic Dean’s List and contributed his free time to goaltending clinics, where he still thrives today as a full-time Goalie Director for Pro Ambitions during the professional off-season.
