Beavers Open Missouri Trip With 5-0 Win Over Maryville

ST. LOUIS, MO – Minot State men’s hockey opened their three-game Missouri road trip with a 5-0 shutout victory over Maryville University on Thursday night. With the win, the Beavers improve to 3-0 overall on the season.

After a scoreless first period, Minot State opened the scoring in the second period when Trentyn Crane found the back of the net on the power play. Sean Williams and Christian Kadolph recorded assists on the goal.

The Beavers added to their lead with 43 seconds remaining in the second period when Grady Hoffman scored, assisted by Crane.

Minot State continued their offensive push in the final second of the second period, as Colby Joseph scored to give the Beavers a 3-0 advantage. Joey Moffatt and Kieran Cooke were credited with the assists.

The Beavers added two more goals in the third period, with Trenton Curtis scoring midway through the period and Colby Joseph recording the assist.

Jaxon Grosdidier capped off the scoring with an unassisted goal to give Minot State the 5-0 victory.

Goaltender Jase Wareham was perfect between the pipes, stopping all 13 shots he faced to record his first shutout of the season.

Minot State continues their Missouri road trip tomorrow night, facing Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2.
