The Bayou State Rougarou of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are proud to announce that defenseman Lukas Kolka has committed to play ACHA Division II college hockey for East Texas Baptist University (Marshall, Texas).
During the 2025-26 season in the NA3HL, the North Richland, Texas native was a reliable blueliner for the Southeast Conference team.
The 2007 birth-year impressed many and was a standout player on his team. Across 42 games this season, all with the Rougarou, Kolka recorded 11 points, nine of which were assists.
“We’re extremely proud of the work that Lukas has put in and excited to see him take the next step in his hockey career,” said Rougarou head coach Paul MacLean.
The best performance of the season from Kolka came on Feb. 20 against the Atlanta Capitals on the road. Kolka recorded two assists for the Rougarou including the primary assist on the first goal of the game to get the scoring started. Bayou State won the game by a score of 7-1.
Kolka is one of two players from the Bayou State Rougarou to make a college commitment this season.
