Indiana Tech Hockey Names 2023-24 Captains

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Indiana Tech men’s hockey coach, Frank DiCristofaro, has named team captains for the 2023-24 season, in addition to releasing their full roster. Colton Nikiforuk, a junior forward from Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada has been named as captain this season. Alongside Nikiforuk, Alex Arnold, Malik Ali, and Ty Barnhill will serve as assistant captains in 2023-24.

Nikiforuk has played in 53 games for the Warriors, recording 19 goals and 24 assists, totaling 43 points throughout the first two years of his career at Tech. He will take over the captain role from former captain Alex Potter.

Arnold will serve as an assistant captain this season for the Orange & Black. He is entering his senior season and is a native of Lafayette, Indiana. The forward has played in 65 games, registering 20 goals, 37 assists, and 57 points in three seasons for the Warriors.

Ali, a junior forward from Flat Rock, Michigan has put up solid numbers during his first two years at Tech and will be one of the leaders moving forward this season as an assistant captain. Ali has played in 62 games for the Warriors and has picked up 68 points from 27 goals and 41 assists.

Barnhill is Tech’s top returning goalie and enters his senior year ahead of the 2023-24 campaign. The Port Washington, Wisconsin native has played in 40 games for Tech, recording 609 saves through his first three seasons. He has allowed 61 goals and has a save percentage of .909, sporting a 19-4-1 record in net.
