OSWEGO — The Oswego State men’s club hockey team is headed to the American Collegiate Hockey Association Division I Tournament in St. Louis, Missouri.

The club was selected as the No. 20 seed and will face No. 13 Indiana Tech in the first round on March 13. The winner faces No. 4 Liberty in the second round. The national tournament includes 24 club teams and will run from March 13-18 at multiple venues in St. Louis.

The team is raising funds to help offset costs including travel, hotels and meals. Look for Oswego State D1 ACHA Hockey on Facebook for information on how to donate.

The Lakers won the Northeast Collegiate Hockey League championship for the second straight season and the third time in club history on Feb. 23 in Buffalo.

They beat Rochester Institute of Technology, 11-0, in the championship game following a 9-0 semifinal win over Rutgers the previous day in the same location.

Oswego also won the regular-season title in the five-team NECHL, which includes club teams from Canisius, RIT, Rutgers and the College of New Jersey. They finished 8-0 in league play and led the conference in goals scored (64), fewest goals allowed (14) and point differential (+50) in the regular season.
