M2 Southeast Coach and Player of the Year Announced

Troy, Mich. (February 26,2023):  The American Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to announce the 2022/2023 Men's Division 2 Southeast Region Coach and Player of the Year.  The National Player and Coach of the Year will be selected from the four Regional winners.  The schedule of awards can be found on the M2 Awards page.

2023 Southeast Region Player of the Year: Lane Skon, Liberty University

This year's award goes to Liberty University Sophomore Goalie, Lane Skon.  The Palmetto, FL. native helped the Flames to a 26-4-1 record and the #1 seed in the Southeast Region.  He finished the season 15-2-1, with a 1.96 Goals Against Average, and a .924% Save Percentage.  Skone finished 9th in the Nation in Wins, 3rd in GAA, and 4th in Save Percentage.

2023 Southeast Region Coach of the Year: Jeff Volkman, University of North Carolina & Alec Artosky, University of Pennsylvania

This year's award goes to the Head Coach of University of North Carolina, Jeff Volkman, and University of Pennsylvania, Alec Artosky

Mr. Volkman led the Tarheels to a 15-9-1 record and ended the regular season ranked #11 in the Southeast Region, the highest ranking in program history.  UNC finished #2 in the newly formed ACCHL Premier League, ahead of #9 Rowan and #10 NC State.  The team earned their 2nd Southeast Regional invite, joining NC State as the only original ACCHL members to make multiple Regional appearances.
