ADRIAN, Mich.– Adrian College’s American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 3 men’s program is proud to announce that forward Ryan Pinho (Novi, MI/Novi HS, MHSAA) has been named team captain for the 2022-23 season. He served as an alternate captain in 2021-22.

The 5-foot-10, 155-pound Michigander has been a vital part of the team’s previous success the last three years: a 37-25-4 record, with the team clinching a spot in the 2021 ACHA Division 3 National Tournament for the first time since 2014.

“Ryan was pretty much a unanimous decision to wear the ‘C’ not just from his teammates in end of the year player meetings when voting for captains, but also from myself to represent the team as Captain.” states Head Coach Doug Raymond, who has been at the helm for the Bulldogs the last two seasons. “He plays a complete game, leads by example both on and off the ice and is a great student in the classroom as well.”

The Facility Management and Event Planning Major will head into his Senior year having skated in 54 games as a Bulldog, while amassing 30 points (17g, 13a). Pinho takes pride in being consistent on both sides of the puck, offensively and defensively, along with a high hockey IQ. Head Coach Doug Raymond had this to say about his game. “Ryan’s overall compete level I believe is his best asset for our team. He’s good in all three zones, and he does a great job using his speed to transition up the ice. He’s the complete package.”

Pinho will lead a Bulldogs team who will be returning most of its core players, having graduated only six Seniors from last year’s team. The team has also announced their alternate captains for the season: Zach Bagozzi (Sr.), Matt Borucki (Sr.), Zack Major (Sr.) and Evan Bliss (So.).

The team will announce its schedule for the 2022-23 season in the upcoming months.
