ADRIAN, Mich. — The Adrian College Women’s ACHA Division 1 hockey team hosted Maryville University in a two-game series at the Arrington Ice Arena on Thursday and Friday of last week, splitting the series with the Saints, winning game one 3-2 in overtime, before dropping game two, 4-2.

The Bulldogs squeezed out a victory in game one thanks to an overtime tally from Captain, Tess McKerrow, on Thursday evening. The win marked Adrian’s sixth of the season. Rhea Peterson and Mackenzie Parent provided the first and second tallies in the game, while goaltender, Rieley Jessie-Gerelli, made 25 saves for the Bulldogs.

The Saints sought out revenge in game two on Friday afternoon, and were successful, taming the Bulldogs by two to split the series. Ashlynn Stitt opened the scoring and McKerrow added one late on the power-play but it wasn’t enough as the Bulldogs moved to 6-2-1 on the season. Adrian goaltender, Amanda Storey, made 28 saves in the defeat.

The WD1 Bulldogs are set to host rival Liberty University at the Arrington Ice Arena this Friday (7:00 PM) and Saturday (12:00 PM).
