WMCH OPPONENTS JAMESTOWN VS MINNESOTA GAME OF THE WEEK

TROY, Mich. – (January 31, 2024) – In the lastest ranking, University of Jamestown held onto the No. 10 position, followed by University of Minnesota at No. 13. This Saturday, February 3rd, they face each other. Both teams are members of the Women’s Midwest Collegiate Hockey league (WMCH).

University of Jamestown (12-9-0-0) had their inaugural season in 2022-2023. The team finished that season ranked eleventh, just missing the National Tournament.

“Our team has been continuing to adapt to our tough conference, but you can tell they are starting to lean into their experience at this level more so it has been really fun and exciting to see them grow,” said Jamestown Head Coach Amber Schaack. “We always have close, hard-fought games with Minnesota. With us being so close in standings it is an important weekend for us to dial in.”

University of Minnesota (9-7-0-0) has made five National Tournament appearances and won the Championship in 2013.

“Coming off the Winter Break we should be healthy and ready for a good start to our second semester.  We have a tough schedule going into the second half of our season, but we’ll be up for the challenge,” said Minnesota Head Coach Doug MeLnyk. “The fan engagement and atmosphere playing in Jamestown makes for a fun experience.  We’re looking forward to a good series with Jamestown.

In addition to being members of their respective conferences, they are also members of the  American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA). Information about the ACHA can be found at achahockey.org and information on the WMCH and WWCHL can be found on their social media accounts.

This week’s game is set for February 3rd at 2:00 pm central time. The game will be played at Wilson Arena 1009 7th St NE, Jamestown, ND.
