Women’s Division 1 Announces Community Service Award Winner

TROY, Mich. – (4/14/24) –  The American Collegiate Hockey Association is proud to recognize Indiana Tech as the 2023-2024 Women’s Division I Community Service Award Recipient.

The Warriors participated in several events to help their community. As a team, they participated in a Walk for Autism and a Suicidie Prevention walk, where they made signs and cheered on the participants.

The team also helped at a local food bank. At the food bank, they sorted produce, helped to restock the store shelves, and various other tasks as assigned.

The Warriors also helped out in two local elementary schools. At one of the schools they helped 4th graders with reading. At another school they helped during arts and crafts with the kindergarteners.

In addition to these events, the team also helped freshmen move into the dorms. They also helped on the ice with learn to skate programming and try hockey for free events.

The ACHA would also like to recognize Concordia University-Ann Arbor as an honorable mention for this year’s award.

 

Indiana Tech, along with the other four Division winners are the finalists for the ACHA National Community Service Award for the 2023/2024 season.  The winner will be announced later this month.
